| Seniors 2010: Activities Schedule and Important Information 1. Finals-Senior finals will be given according to the following schedule: 2nd and 4th blocks-Monday-May 24, 2010 1st and 3rd--Tuesday-May 25, 2010 **All Textbooks must be turned in or accounted for by May 24, 2010. 2. Financial Obligations: All financial obligations must be cleared up by Monday, May 4, 2010. This includes all back fees. This also includes payments for library books and overdue fines, as well payments for pictures, cap and gown, diploma, and yearbook. If you anticipate any problems concerning these matters, please contact your sponsor or Dr. Griffin immediately. You will not be allowed to participate in Senior activities until all financial matters have been taken care of. Don't forget last minute library books, fines, and lunchroom charges. 3. Cap, Gown and Diploma-The cost will be $50.00 and this is due May 1, 2010. Cap and gowns will be worn on Honors Day May 14, 2010. If you do not have your cap and gown you will not be allowed to participate. Late arrivals will not be allowed to enter the gym and sit with the senior class. To receive your cap and gown, you must pay all debts and make sure you are clear with Mrs. Thomas. 4. Grades from independent study or correspondence courses-In order for a student to participate in senior activities and graduation, they must receive the non-traditional credit that classifies them as a senior by May 4th. 5. BACCALAUREATE services will be held on Sunday, May 23th at 3:00 p.m. All Seniors are encouraged to participate. You must arrive by 2:30 p.m. at the church. Cap and gowns are required. (Location will be announced.) 6. Practices are scheduled during school hours. Your attendance is required. The first required practice will be May 21st, after Class Day. The second practice will be May 25, on the football field during 4th block. The seniors will gather for the Senior breakfast and a final practice (May 26, 2010) on the football field. This is required-DO NOT BE LATE!! Attendance on these days is required and other practices will be announced if needed. 7. PICTURES WILL BE MADE BY A PROFESSIONAL PHOTOGRAPHER. No one will be allowed on the field to make pictures. A class picture will be made at 8.00 a.m. before Honors Day. If you are not dressed and ready for the group picture we will not wait. Only Seniors will be allowed in the gym. If you plan to purchase pictures you will need correct change. 8. DRESS REQUIREMENTS: GIRLS: Black dress and black shoes. Wear no conspicuous jewelry. Select comfortable walking shoes. No sandals will be allowed-Sunday shoes only. BOYS: White dress shirt with traditional collar and dark ties, khaki pants and dress shoes. No one will be allowed to participate in graduation without a tie. NO TENNIS SHOES! 9. GRADUATION NIGHT you will be expected to be here ONE HOUR prior to the graduation ceremony. If you are not here to take you assigned place in line, you will not be allowed to participate in the Graduation program. Students will meet in Mrs. Thomas' room before graduation. Rooms will be locked when we leave to go to the field. Do not leave anything in the classroom. 10. SPEAKERS are expected to memorize their speeches. You will need to practice several times before graduation. Mrs. Whitaker will be available for input and final speech approval. 11. AUDIENCE behavior such as moving around or loud noises distract from the graduation ceremony. We want the seniors to be the "STARS" IN THE SPOTLIGHT! Please be sure to inform your family and friends. 12. Prom---April 23, 2010 13. Honors Day---May 14, 2010 14. Class Day---May 21, 2010 (Required Practice in the gym) 15. Baccalaureate---May 23rd @ 3:00 p.m. 16. Seniors will practice on the field during fourth block (May 25, 2010) 17. Senior breakfast and FINAL graduation practice---May 26, 2010 @ 8:30 The last school day for seniors is May 26. They can leave after practice. 18.
